Local Service Area model

Local knowledge and response is necessary in understanding and meeting the needs and expectations of local communities.  Throughout the State policing services are administered through fourteen Local Service Areas (LSAs), enabling the integration of core strategies and improved policing in a defined geographical area.

Local Service Areas aim to achieve safer local communities and work together on broader community safety outcomes for issues extending beyond particular LSA boundaries. Centrally located Crime Service and Operations Support Service resources also provide specialist assistance when required.
