Business Service

Business Services provides a professional corporate service which is client focused, innovative and cost effective. It supports SAPOL in the delivery of policing services to the community of South Australia.

The Business Service contains Sections and Branches which provide a wide range of support and services in the following areas:

Physical Assets Services Branch

  • Fleet management services (e.g. cars)
  • Aircraft services
  • Strategic asset management and planning
  • Property management and coordination (including Echunga and the Academy).
  • Uniforms and personal equipment
  • Police housing liaison
  • Exhibit stores and confiscated asset management
  • Property damage claim settlement

Procurement and Contract Management Services Branch

South Australia Police has prepared a Forward Procurement Plan 2008 - 2011 which provides projections for the next three financial years of purchases of goods and services, estimated in excess of $100,000 in value.

Expiation Notice Branch

  • Expiation notice processing for:
    • mobile and fixed speed detection
    • road traffic offences
    • drug offences
  • Other agency expiation processing
  • Customer enquiry service

Call Centre

  • Responds to 131 444 calls for non-urgent police attendance
  • The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Call Centre operators will take reports relative to crime (according to set criteria) and missing persons. An operator often takes a report of crime over the telephone before a police patrol arrives to commence the investigation. This provides enhanced customer service and minimises patrol attendance times.
