The response area for Western Adelaide Local Service Area (WALSA) covers 123 square kilometres with a population of approximately 153,091 residents. Local police are located at the Port Adelaide Police Complex, Henley Beach Police Station and Parks Police Complex.

Services provided include mobile patrols, Intelligence, Criminal Justice, Traffic Enforcement, Criminal Investigations, Crime Prevention and Victim Support Services to meet the needs of the community.
Located in close proximity to the coast and the Port River, Port Adelaide is richly steeped in maritime history and the indigenous culture of the Kaurna peoples. WALSA has the unique responsibility of managing and policing four high profile sporting and entertainment venues in Adelaide - Adelaide Entertainment Centre, AAMI Stadium, Hindmarsh Stadium and the Distinctive Homes Dome, two major shopping complexes - Centro Arndale, Kilkenny and Westfield, WestLakes, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and a major shipping port situated at Outer Harbor.
WALSA provides a 24 hour, 7 days a week customer focused community policing service to residents and businesses within the two local Government boundaries of the City of Charles Sturt and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
