Communications Branch The Communications Branch is involved the provision of assistance to the community in personal emergencies and the coordination and management of emergency incidents. Therefore Communications Branch is constantly active in:-
Call TakingCommunications Branch handles inbound telephone calls including 000 and police enquiry calls, Hotlines from other emergency services, collision towing requirements and alarm activation reports. DispatchingCommunications Branch provides a 24 hour / 7 day a week radio communications network (data, paging and voice) to the Adelaide metropolitan area as well as radio communications state wide. Patrol coordination management and the prioritisation of incident despatch are part of the service levels given. Service RequestsCommunications Branch provides a support to patrol staff in their need to incorporate information or other agency / unit assistance. Coordination of ResourcesOccurs at several levels within Communications Branch, and involves the activation of specialist units both from within SAPOL as well as many external agencies.
