Blue Light is a crime prevention initiative that began in 1982 to provide young people with safe and well-supervised activities. The Blue Light programs give young people: - the opportunity to interact with police at a social level, effectively breaking down barriers and forming positive relationships
- the chance to learn life skills, including making decisions and the possible consequences of those decisions.

CampsBlue Light camps provide a broad range of activities, including: - recreational and behaviour modification activities
- youth leadership skills
- specific activities for primary and secondary school students with strategies centred on making good choices and good citizenship
- activities to increase self-esteem, particularly for young people with disabilities, young migrants, young indigenous people and victims of crime

Sporting activitiesSuch as: - sailing program
- basketball program
- skate competition

Living skills programThe Living Skills program focuses on young people aged between 12 and 14 years, to increase their self-esteem, social skills and understanding of the role of police. Its activities are geared to specific environments including, but not limited to: - City Safe Walk
- Drop-in centre at Leigh Creek
- Police Link program at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital
- Big Night Out.
