International Visitors Permit

Persons competing in the 2008 Muzzle Loading Championships in Adelaide will need to apply for an International Visitors Permit. This is to be completed prior to the application close off date through the competition organisers along with the competition registration.

Normally a visitor to Australia bringing in firearms would also be required to obtain an importation certificate and an exportation certificate for all firearms. Arrangements have been put in place to record these permits electronically for competitors negating the need for additional paperwork.

Competitors bring firearms into Australia must have an International Visitors Permit issued by the South Australia Police and produce the permit and the firearms to Customs on entry. Likewise on leaving Australia, your permit and the firearms must be cleared by Customs at the point of departure.
